Making Mini Sites With LuvWeb CMS

While almost everyone has heard of minisites by now if you know anything about internet marketing, very few people have considered using an open source and free CMS or content management system, like Mambo or LuvWeb, which is based on Mambo code, to produce minisites.

What are the advantages of using a CMS like LuvWeb to rapidly make and deploy minisites on the internet?

1. LuvWeb is easy to use and you can use thousands of free CSS based templates that support the latest standards and have a site up in hours, not days.

2. LuvWeb support easy wysiwyg or what you see is what you get visual editors that allow you to set up and add content to a site as easily as using a word processor on your desktop computer. What this means is that your site supports the latest web 2.0 standards and can grow in content easily and quickly without redeveloping your website from scratch.

3. LuvWeb has thousands of extensions and you can easily produce websites that rival sites costing tens of thousands of dollars for nothing. You can easily add membership sites, photo galleries, streaming video, audio, chat, and forums as well as rich blogs. In short, everything to make your site “sticky” and keep bringing back those visitors over and over again.

4. LuvWeb makes changing the look of your site a snap, since you can change your template and quickly change the look and feel of your website in just minutes, allowing you to freshen up your site every once in a while.

5. LuvWeb is continuously updated and is now releasing a beta version called 1.5. Most people are still working on 1.03 or so, but it is nice to know that future upgrades are available.

6. LuvWeb is well supported by many Hosting services now, and is able to be installed by Fantastico scripts with just one click. There is a user manual and several video packages that show you how to make templates and set up membership sites for profit.

7. LuvWeb and most of it’s extensions or add ons are free and open source so it is cheap to get a very professional web presence on the internet.

For all the advantages, it will take a few weeks to get used to the new methodology of using a CMS to manage and deploy your websites unless you are used to making websites from your browser. Once you get the hang of it however, you never want to go back to the slow laborious system of desktop website creation and uploading.

I recommend you go to one of the sites called Joomlatutorials.com and go through the tutorials right after installing LuvWeb and before you do any work on your own site. Basically, you start with a template that you get for free at the largest free site template repository called http://www.joomla24.com. They have over 1,500 free templates you can start with. Alternatively, you can go with one of the many commercial template companies that offer a variety of paid templates that you can modify and make into your site.

Once you select the template, you must change the permissions on your template and media areas of your template section in LuvWeb under your public html directory so that you can make changes to the appropriate template and files.

You do this either within LuvWeb or most often, from cpanel using your file manager functions and set the file permissions to 777 for the folders and 666 for files.

You must get a log in from your hosting company after installation so that you can go into the administrators section that you manage and build the site from and make changes and add content to the site.

After you log in, you go to the templates section in the site manager and click on new.

Then you are presented with a dialog that asks you to browse on your computer and pick the site template which must be in zip format and you upload the template on your site. After a few minutes, if it is successful, and it tells you so, and then you click on continue. Then your site template will be listed with the other default templates. You click the radio button to make the template you installed the default template.

Then, you click on the radio button to select the default template and then you click on html to edit the html for the template page. You will be checking for the image files on the page.

As you can see, you need to study html and I would especially study CSS or cascading style sheets and tables so that you know how to place things on the page. In any event you need to look for the header graphic and replace it with a graphic header of your logo or a header image for your site.

You must be sure the graphic is slightly smaller than the size given so that the header graphic or logo will show up without messing up the format of the template or page. You must upload using an ftp program like Transmit or Filezilla the image file that you want to use for your logo or header image. Once you find the LuvWeb folder in the public html folder, you must click on it to find the templates folder. Inside that there is an images folder. You must upload your chosen image to that folder. It should be a .jpg or .gif file in the same format as that used in the template if possible. Once the image shows up in the file, your next job is to change the html in the html file and replace it with the name of the image you uploaded. Then when you pull up your [http://www.sitename/LuvWeb] your front page should show your graphic logo or header file.

Next, you need to unpublish those buttons on the front page that you don’t need. You go to the main menu section and unpublish everything but the home button. You will need to go to LuvWeb extensions page and go to menu section and find a menu extension that will allow you to use images or other files to set up your menus. Then you will have the appropriate file extension ready when it is time to link your menus which is the last step in setting up your website.

One thing you can do now is figure out what extensions or extras you will need on your website. You can just have a straight minisite but you will do better in the search engines and in the eyes of your visitors if you have a theme based content site and not just a sales page. If you add a chat client, a forum, and a blog to your site then you will find that your visitors become involved with the site and keep returning. The more they are on your site, the greater the chance they will buy what you have to offer, be it an affiliate offer, an ebook, or a membership.

Check each section of the extensions. Especially the graphics section where all the banner advertising extensions are. You can monetize the site with banners and/or text ads that will bring additional money onto the site. It is true that if you use AdSense on your site, your site will show up in the search engines sooner. There are several AdSense modules. You will need to add docman or Remository if you will be setting up files for download on your site. Community builder or AEC will serve you well if you are setting up a membership site. You will need One of the wsiwyg content editors in the content and news section so that you can edit your pages easily and quickly. You must set up your wysiwyg editor as your default editor for LuvWeb. Then when you go to add content, you can easily and quickly edit your pages. You should go to the Blog section and add X-Blogg for editing your blog offline and download one of the blog programs for easily setting up and running a blog from your site. You will need to add one of the payment processors and/or a shopping cart for your site if you will be selling products from your site. Once you have added all the extensions, be it a component, module, or mambot you are ready to go to the next step.

Next, you will start adding the sections you will need in your site. Then you will add categories to the sections until you have divided your site into an organized entity. Then you will edit the front page using the content editor and the wysiwyg editor you have made the default content editor. You will add images and add articles so that everything is done to your satisfaction. Use Polls, banners, and the AdSense or other text ads for your affiliate programs to the front page on a rotating Banner or rotating ad schedule. That way you can track where most of your sales are coming from . Keep adding articles and other sections to your site until it is finished. Don’t forget to add sales pages for each of the products or affiliate opportunities you are promoting. Then you will add a Thank You page for any downloads you need to offer or ebooks or software. You will have to set up the extension and add any thumbnails or links you need to download products for.

Once that is all set up check all your images and your spelling for all your articles. Check your links and make sure that everything is in order. Make sure your shopping Cart is working properly by adding a sample products and ordering them. Make sure that any forms are working properly to add your visitors to your opt in list.

Add your newsletter buttons and set up your mailings. Set up your autoresponders for any orders or requests for you newsletters. I suggest you set up your newsletters in an archive section on your site so that people can download them from the site in case their email Spam filter eats your newsletter.

Once everything looks good publish your pages.

Congratulations, your site is now live. Write two articles in your area of expertise a day and you will have over 100 articles in a years time circulating all over the net earning you money. You just submit the articles to article directories and you will add a signature file mentioning your experience and your main web site. As I said, if you do this to hundreds of sites you will soon see a flood of traffic to your site and the money will follow! LuvWeb Greetings for the holidays!

How to Fix Windows Defender 0x800106ba Errors

The 0×800106ba errors that Windows Defender shows are caused by your systems inability to update its Windows Defender firewall, preventing your computer from being able to load the settings it requires to run, leading it to run slowly. This error is a big problem for all Windows systems and in order to fix it, you need to be able to follow the steps in this article.

The errors that are shown by Windows Defender are as follows:

  • Error Code 0×800106ba Application failed to initialize
  • Error Code 0×800106ba The systems license has expired. Your logon request is denied.

These errors are shown because Windows Defender either does not have the valid permissions it requires to update itself or does not have the files it needs to update itself. In order to fix this problem, you first need to ensure that Windows Defender is working well and then you should use some software tools to ensure that there are no other damaged parts of your system.

The first thing you should do to fix this error is to make sure that Windows Defender loads up automatically at boot. It’s often the case that this program will become damaged or corrupted, and will not load up properly, which will cause the 0×800106ba error. To fix this, you should load up the “Services” section from MSConfig and then use it to make Windows Defender load up automatically at boot.

After that, you should then reinstall Windows Defender and re-register any of the files it requires to run. A big problem for this piece of software is the way in which many computer programs will overwrite the files it needs to operate, making it extremely difficult for your computer to use them. Reinstalling the software and then re-registering the files will allow your PC to run the program properly, avoiding the 0×800106ba error.

Also, you should look to clean out the registry of your system to prevent any further damage to Windows Defender. The registry is a database which stores information and settings for your PC – it’s where your computer keeps everything from your desktop wallpaper to your most recently used programs, making it a very important part of your PC. Unfortunately, the registry is also one of the biggest causes of issues for your system as it’s continually making your computer unable to read the files it requires to run. To make sure this is not a cause of the 0×800106ba error, you should use a ‘registry cleaner’ to fix any of the damaged registry settings that are causing problems inside your system.

Runtime Error 52 Repair Tutorial – How To Fix Runtime 52 Errors On Your PC

Runtime Error 52 is a systems error that occurs in most Windows-based PCs. This error is indicative of a bad sector (file or number) in your computer which in most cases will have originated from an application error. You will normally encounter the Runtime Error while running Microsoft Word files that have enabled macros and that were made using a different PC. There is a direct link between this system error and issues in the macro command settings of Visual Basic. To fix Runtime Error 52, it is highly recommended that you first repair damaged macro settings in your PC. The steps to repairing defective macros settings as well as other means of fixing Runtime Error 52 in your system are explained in this tutorial.

What Causes Runtime Error 52?

It is a known fact that wrong or incorrect configurations in the macro commands in Visual Basic can cause the this error to surface in your system. Other culprits are registry issues and a defective Microsoft Word application. This error would show itself in your PC in this format:

“Runtime error 52: Bad File name or number.”

Follow the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article to rid your PC of Runtime Error 52 and get your computer working normally again.

How To Fix Runtime Error 52

One of the main reasons as to why you are experiencing this error in your system is because Microsoft Word sometimes fails to correctly read a macro setting in a Word document that was created on a different computer. To resolve this type of issue, you need to replace the macro settings in affected Word documents with new ones. This approach is proven to be very effective for fixing Runtime 52 errors. To do this, you need to first click on Tools on the Menu. Next select the Options tab then proceed to Security. Afterwards, select Macro Security. You then need to choose Medium from the Security Level tab. Confirm the selection by clicking on the OK button. Next you should restart Word. Click on File followed by Exit, then reopen the program. When Microsoft Word opens up, you will be given an option to enable or disable macros, in which case you should choose to disable them. If this does not fix the problem, consider cleaning your registry.

The registry is a common cause of runtime 52 errors. Inside the registry you will find thousands of files and settings that grow in number by the day. It contains important settings needed to run programs, such as the ones used by Windows to load Microsoft Word; however the registry is also prone to corruption, and so these settings can get damaged. The longer you use your computer, the more damage and corruption there will be that accumulates in your registry. Damaged settings only serve to slow your PC down, and eventually cause errors such as this error. Unfortunately, these broken settings will not go away by themselves and so the problems won’t go away so easily. To remove broken files and settings in your registry, you need to use a registry cleaner, which is an application that is designed to quickly and efficiently repair your computer.

How To Fix Windows 0x0000024 Error On Your PC

The 0×00000024 error is a common occurrence if you are running a Windows operating system; it is more frequent with computers using Windows XP. Once you start and log on to Windows, the error message usually pops up. This is a signal that the Ntfs.sys file in the system is experiencing issues. It could have been damaged, infected by a virus, etc. This error is one that causes the blue screen to appear.

What Is This Error?

Basically you will see the computer flash an error message on screen that says:

“NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM” or “Stop 0×00000024″.

This error is only seen when the ntfs.sys file is malfunctioning. Do not take this problem lightly because this file is actually a very important component of the computer. It allows the system to process and write the drives that use the ntfs file system. If the file is having issues, Windows will have problems using it. Also, another possible reason could be the problem with Windows not being able to correctly read a file in the hard drive or the applications that make use of the file. To solve this problem you will have to pinpoint where the error is from and how to fix it. Follow the guide below to perform the proper troubleshooting of the error.

How To Fix The 0x00000024 Error

The first step is to deal with the issues in the hard drive. The hard drive is the most plausible reason of complications like the 0×00000024 error that occur in computers. To find out if the error started there, you need to check the integrity of the hard drive. This is the usual method employed when faced with errors like this. To do so, employ the CHKDSK command, which can be done by using the steps here:

  • Go to START and click RUN.
  • Inside the box, type in “cmd” to open command prompt; in the command prompt box, type “”chkdsk drive:/f” and then ENTER to affirm the command.
  • This will launch the CHKDSK application that will review the status of the hard drive performance and determine whether it is effective or defective.
  • Also, you should not overlook the drivers in the computer because they too can be a cause of the error.
  • To do this, go to MY COMPUTER and then select the hard disk drive that you want to scan for errors first.
  • Right click this disk drive and select PROPERTIES > TOOLS > CHECK NOW button. This selection for the scan will appear and then among the choices, choose “Automatically fix file system errors check boxes” or/and “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors”.
  • After that, simply press START so that the scan and recovery will begin.

Lastly, you will have to run a registry cleaner. The tool for this is the Frontline Registry Cleaner. In dealing with the registry database, you need to employ the use of a tool specially designed for such a delicate sector of the computer system. This program will clear up issues and prevent damaged files from causing problems with the operations of the computer.

How to Repair Runtime Error 70

Runtime Error 70 is a common Windows error caused by insufficient privileges / user rights when trying to access various pieces of data over a network. This is a big problem, and because the Runtime error is created when you use an application / do something on your PC, it can be quite difficult to resolve. Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to resolve this error for good, and this article is going to show you exactly what to do.

This error normally displays in this format:

Run-time error ’70′:

Permission Denied

In order to repair the Runtime Error 70, you first need to ensure that your user permissions are fine, and then that you have a series of measures in place to make sure it does not occur again. The problem is that whenever you want to connect to a server, you need to have permissions to access that machine. If Windows has some problem which prevents you accessing it, it will just run in a continuous loop of trying to access it again. To stop this from occurring, Microsoft introduced the ’70’ runtime error, and here’s how to fix it:

The first step to repair this error is to enable “Authorization Checking” and to also grant permission to your user accounts. This will not only allow your user to access the data you need, but it will also allow Windows to better communicate with the server machine.

After doing that, it’s recommended that you clean out the “registry” of your PC with a registry cleaner. The registry is a database inside Windows which stores a large number of files and settings for your system, allowing Windows to keep a variety of information stored for future use. Unfortunately, the registry is also one of the biggest causes of problems for Windows, and is often the cause of many Runtime errors. Unfortunately, the registry (and all the vital settings inside it) often become damaged, and unreadable. To make sure this is not a problem, you need to use a registry cleaner to scan through all the files on your PC and repair them. This will ensure that any minor issues causing the Runtime Error are dealt with swiftly and securely.

Windbg Minidump Tutorial – Setting Up & Reading Minidump Files

This is a tutorial on how to set up and read your minidump files when you receive a BSOD (blue screen of death) in the attempts to gain further insight as to the cause of the problem. First thing is first. Download the latest debugging tools from the Microsoft site.

Then go to Start/Start Search. Type i

the command cmd.

Then change directories to:

C:Program FilesDebugging Tools for Windows (x86)

by using the command:

cd c:program filesdebugging tools for windows (x86)

It’s case insensitive when using the cd command.

Then type in:

windbg.exe z c:windowsminidumpmini06190901.dmp c “!analyze v”

Your minidump file is located at C:WindowsMinidumpMini06200901.dmp. It’ll be in the form “MiniMMDDYY01.dmp”.

If somewhere in the output of the Bugcheck Analysis you see an error like:

Kernel symbols are WRONG. Please fix symbols to do analysis.

Then it’s most likely that you are using previous and incompatible symbols or corrupt files or you don’t have the proper symbols at the specified location when the Windbg program was trying to analyze the minidump file. So what I did was open up the Windbg program located at C:Program FilesDebugging Tools for Windows (x86) (in Vista and I believe it’s the same location for XP).

This is an important step so ensure that your symbol path file is set correctly lest you get the kernel symbols are WRONG error or other types of errors. Now set the Symbol File Path (File/Symbol File Path) to:

SRVe:symbols[path to microsoft symbols path]

However, for some reason I found that in order to set the Symbol File Path in the “File/Symbol File Path” field you cannot change it directly with the field of “File/Symbol File Path”. So what I found that you need to change it through the Windbg command window by going to:

In the bottom of the command window beside the “kd>” prompt type this in:

.sympath SRVe:symbols[path to microsoft symbols path].

The part between the two asterisks () is where the symbols from Microsoft’s servers will be downloaded to. It’s fairly large (approximately 22MB) so make sure that you have sufficient disk space.

Alternatively, you can set it in your environment variable either in your system or user environment variable. To do this, click the WINDOWS KEY+e. The WINDOWS KEY is the key to the right of the LEFT CTRL key of the keyboard. This will open up Windows Explorer.

Then click on the “Advanced system settings” at the top left of the window. This step applies to Vista only. For XP users, simply click on the Advanced tab.

Then click on the button “Environment variable” at the bottom of the window.

Then click on the “New” button under System Variables. Again you can create the environment as a user environment variable instead.

In the “Variable Name” type:

In the “Variable Value” type:

symsrvsymsrv.dlle:symbols[path to microsoft symbols path]

If you set the symbol file path as a system environment variable I believe you may have to reboot your computer in order for it to take effect.

So the following is the output for my crash:

Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.11.0001.404 X86

It looks like a bunch of hieroglyphic mumbo jumbo. However, if you look closely you can gain some further insight into the possible problem or cause of it. The PROCESS_NAME is System suggesting a system process. The MODULE_NAME is tdx.

The tdx was clickable for me which executes the command:

kd> lmvm tdx

as a kd command. The ‘lm’ in “lmvm” is Loaded Module. The ‘v’ is Verbose. The ‘m’ is a pattern match. From the debugger chm manual it states it as:

m Pattern

Specifies a pattern that the module name must match. Pattern can contain a variety of wildcard characters and specifiers. For more information about the syntax of this information, see String Wildcard Syntax.

You can find a lot of information from the chm manual when you download the windbg from Microsoft. It will located here:

C:Program FilesDebugging Tools for Windows (x86)debugger.chm

The output from the above command is:

0: kd> lmvm tdx

start end module name

So we glean some more insight. Who makes the module and the possible cause of the problem.

I look at the STACK_TEXT and there are references to tcpip and NETIO which seems to allude to a network problem. So I googled others with a BSOD and tdx.sys problem and there is a hotfix for this problem. However, a BIG word of caution please do not download the hotfix if this particular problem does not apply to you. Microsoft suggests to use the Microsoft Update procedures which will include all hotfixes.

To obtain the link to the hotfix for the network problem Google “Hotfix 934611 microsoft”.

I did not download this hotfix but rather opted to updated my service pack. Currently, Vista is at Service Pack 2. I only had Service Pack 1. So I’ll see if this fixes the problem.

To check what Service Pack you have installed and what bit version (32bit or 64bit) go to:

“Start/Computer”. Rightclick “Computer” and then click “Properties”. You’ll see the Service Pack information under the heading “Windows Edition”. Under the heading “System” (around midway through the page) you’ll see “System type:” which will display whether you have 32bit or 64bit versions installed.

To obtain the Service Pack 2 for Vista Google “sp2 Vista Microsoft”.

4 Major Questions to Ask While Interviewing a Magento Developer

The key to success of your online store lies on how efficiently you can build it. User-friendliness, functionality, SEO-friendliness and a number of other factors are responsible for the success of your online website. Thus, choosing the eCommerce platform is a crucial phase of development. Magento is the most powerful platform and recommended choice of developers for eCommerce development. However, things certainly become more productive when you choose the right Magento developer for your eCommerce website as well.

Skill set and knowledge of a developer greatly affect the efficiency of a website and thus, while interviewing a developer it becomes crucial to check his credibility rightly. Keeping this in mind, here are some of the important questions to know before hiring a developer.

Question 1: Is your company experienced in Magento eCommerce development?

One of the major questions to ask a developer is whether he has a fair experience to work with Magento development projects or not. Magento is typically a complex software which, certainly requires relevant experience to make sure that the project doesn’t get stuck in the middle while addressing the technical challenges. Keep in mind, that the developer has sound experience to work with different types of projects and stay ready to face various technical challenges.

Question 2: Is your work process focussed on quality?

Quality is something of greatest importance while building a Magento online store. Thus, while choosing the right developer for your web development project, it is ideal to keep a note of the QA methods adopted by him to test the process of quality management. Furthermore, you can look for the certifications and accreditation achieved by the developer to know about his level of credibility.

Question 3: How effective is your mode of communication?

Effective communication is a major requisite to carry a smooth relation between the development team and stakeholders. Thus, make sure that they have an effective communication mechanism to connect with their clients. Starting from the first project meeting to its delivery, constant communication with the project managers, development team and account managers is necessary.

Question 4: Do you offer post-development support?

Post-development support is important to deal with the bugs and issues before the eCommerce site goes live. While considering complexities of this platform, it makes the right sense to have extensive support for your post development needs such that you do not need to suffer from and functionality or technical issue in the future course.

Developing an eCommerce store powered by Magento is certainly a daunting task as this platform requires deep technical expertise. Thus, even for making minor changes and enhancements, the skill set of a developer is necessary.

Steps to Resolve the Dell Error Code 0141

The 0141 error is a Dell error which is shown when there are problems with the hard drive of your system. The typical message shown for this error is “2000-0141” and displays some sort of issues with the hard drive of your PC. Many people report seeing this error even though the hard drive is not affected, and in order to fix it, you need to be able to use the following tutorial to remedy any of the issues inside it…

What Causes The Dell 0141 Error?

* Corrupt registry settings

* Infections from viruses

* Damaged hard drive settings on your Dell PC

How Do You Fix The Dell 0141 Error?

Step1 – You should first run the “Dell Self Test” facility to scan through your PC and tell you about any problems that might be inside it. This is a piece of software provided by Dell and is used to help you get to the bottom of any issues or problems that often cause your computer to show errors. You can use this facility from the “Dell Resource CD” that came with your Dell computer. Performing this test will show you what’s wrong with your system and will then give you the direct method to fix the issues

Step 2 – You should then run a “virus scan” to remove any possible infections that are inside your system. Viruses are like small applications which latch onto your computer and hardware and cause a lot of problems to your PC. To fix this, you need to use a reliable antivirus program to scan through your system and remove any of the viruses that might be on your system and causing havoc.

Step 3 – After performing those 2 steps, you should then perform a registry scan to help fix your computer’s registry. The registry is a central database which stores all sorts of settings and information for your system. Unfortunately, the registry is also one of the main causes of problems for your PC, and is what causes many PCs to run with errors. Fortunately, you can fix this and make your PC run much faster by using a ‘registry cleaner’ to fix any of the problems that are inside this part of Windows. This is highly recommended to fix the 0141 error.
