0X8007045D Error Fix

The 0x8007045D error is shown when you try to back up files or settings of your system to form of external media. Most people see this error when they try and get their PC to connect to the likes of an external hard drive, or CD / DVD media. In order to ensure that it’s not going to cause any lasting damage to your PC, it’s recommended that you initially ensure that the parts of Windows that are being used are able to process the files & settings that are required, as well as helping your system to process the various options that are needed to run.

The problems that cause this error are that your system cannot communicate with the external media that’s required for the backup to complete. We’ve found that most issues of this nature have been created by your computer not having the files / settings that the system itself needs to run, as well as having a number of problems with the various settings that Windows may use to run the backups. Here are some of the problems that will lead this error to show typically:

  • The firewalls / antivirus programs on your PC will be blocking the process
  • The settings of Windows will be damaged / corrupted
  • Windows will have not have access to its files / settings

In order to resolve these problems, you first need to make sure that your computer is able to process the various options that are required to help it run the backups, as well as having the various settings options that the system as a whole will use. Here’s how to fix the problem:

Use ChkDisk

  1. Click “Computer
  2. Right-Click on the external media drive
  3. Select “Properties
  4. Select “Tools
  5. Click “Check Errors

Disable Any Security Software On Your PC

  1. Right-click on any antivirus / security programs in the “System Tray” of Windows
  2. Select “Disable” or “Exit
  3. Try the backup again

Clean Out Any Registry Errors On Windows

  1. Download a reliable registry cleaner from the Internet (we recommend Frontline Registry Cleaner)
  2. Install the program
  3. Let it scan through your PC
  4. If it finds over 500 errors, let it resolve the problems

This last step is basically where the registry will allow you to get the most out of your PC by cleaning out any of the potential problems that your system may have with its settings.
